The
Little Buddha Journal : February 2005
Chapter 8 : ‘Annus Horribilus'
I
would like to thank everyone who stood by us during,
what we refer to as, our ‘annus horribilus'
– our bad year.
As
many of you know, Grant and Fugue were in a horrendous
car accident on 2 nd March 2005 when, in a queue
of traffic at road works on the M8 heading for Glasgow
from Edinburgh, some “ eedjit ” slammed
into the back of them at 90mph+ while fumbling about
the passenger-side floor for his mobile to txt his
girlfriend that he would be late home.
And boy was he right! He was
still sat, in his car, on the hard shoulder of the
M8 at 11pm when Grant's dad passed by on this way
to hospital to be with Grant and Fugue.
Our
boys, Grant and Fugue, were taken to Wishaw General
Hospital where it was confirmed that they had both
suffered severe muscular-skeletal trauma to the
spine.
Ongoing
(often painful) hours of intense physiotherapy and
one spinal operation later, slowly but surely -
Grant and Fugue are on the road to making a good
recovery.
We
are truly sorry that we've been ‘off the circuit'
for almost a year, but we would like to thank you
for your relentless support – especially those of
you who sent get well cards, e-mails full of best
wishes etc… It has not gone unrecognised.
We
did have our second EP ready to go but
we decided it would be best not to release it as
we would not be able to tour to promote it.
Having
this amount of time on our hands, gave us the chance
to write new material so we decided to work towards
the release of an album – releasing a handful of
singles from it.
Although
we have been out of the public eye, behind the scenes
there have been other things happening for Little
Buddha, which will be announced later this year.
We
are glad to see the back of 2005 – our annus horribilus
– and look forward to 2006 in the hope that it will
be a good vintage for us!
Thanks
again for all your continued support – may you all
be blessed with good karma.
Love
Kat
